What are the symptoms of vaginal dryness ?

Common symptoms of vaginal dryness are burning, itching or soreness of the vagina.

Vaginal bleeding (spotting) may also occur.

You may first notice vaginal dryness as a lack of natural lubrication during sexual intercourse.

Vaginal dryness is usually the first symptom of Atrophic Vaginitis - thinning, dryness and inflammation of a woman’s vaginal tissues. These tissues normally make a clear lubricating fluid to keep them healthy and supple but if this doesn’t happen vaginal dryness occurs.

Up to about 50% of women with symptoms describe them as moderate or severe.
